Queensryche and Rock – Help me relax after busy start to Ulistic.
In today’s hi-tech, fast paced, socially connected world, how does one relax?
Maybe it is heavy metal music like me.
Maybe it is curling up with a good book or simply just unplugging from the world.
Wow! The past two or three weeks the world is complete blur. David and I got Ulistic up and going. I wrapped up my role as facilitator with HTG Canada and I successfully exited after a short tour of duty with Bulletproof InfoTech. I am happy to report things are rocking and rolling for us and my retirement from 15 years as an IT Professional is starting off on the right foot, more like a catapult. Thanks Dave for having confidence to invite me to join you.
Thanks to Ted from IT Weapons for the phrase that will stick with me forever. “I am still scared from where the next dollar will come from”. This is something that I have missed for a while.
Ulistic, if you haven’t been following my blog is a new firm that my long time friend David West (Nope, not the Basketball player – the Calgary Web Design guy) and I have started recently. We are serving the Calgary, Alberta market with professional social media consulting, helping Calgary business with search engine optimization (SEO) support and online marketing consulting.
Yes, I will help all my finds in the Information Technology, Small Business Specialist Community and Heartland Tech Groups with all their web needs. We have a pretty attractive agent program for IT firms who want to offer web development, social media and SEO to their clients and also who need help themselves. Call me at 403.775.2205, ask me for the IT Pro offering
.
This is great new career path for me since I simply love to serve people and business.
What drives me to get Ulistic going and immediately serving and helping business is my deep passion for coaching and mentoring. Our firm specializes in all forms of online marketing and especially for business who find themselves struggling with being found online with practical search engine optimization combined with training so you know what we are doing and why.
It is the old teach a man to fish vs. give a man a fish mindset.
But how I am unplugging these days? It has been a busy couple of weeks and one can argue the point, if you are passionate about what you do then is it really work? I blog almost daily, tweet all the time and live on Facebook and LinkedIn. Social Media is a passion and not really work for me. Even though I do that for a living as well.
I do like to relax from time to time. Tonight I picked up Queensryche’s new record “American Soldier” and I enjoyed listening to it on my iPhone from start to finish, it is simply great. Music for me is a form of just zoning out and enjoying the sounds of the drums, guitars and in this occasion the awesome vocals of one Mr. Geoff Tate. The record hits multiple genres of music from rap/metal, bluesy rock, hard rock and ballads. It is must have mission or purpose record for any music fan. Exactly what I need. A mission and purpose, this record really was timed for me this week
Watch this wonderful video of “Home Again”. As a former Canadian military member, this hits home pretty hard. This song is from the “American Soldier” record.
