Merry Christmas to all my friends and readers

At this time of year many of us turn to reflective thoughts and review the year that was.  2009 was nothing different for this Calgary Computer Consultant, it was a year of transition, major changes, new things and reconnecting.  Here is a quick review of what happened in 2009 for me and perhaps other tidbits of critical items of importance to at least me.

  • The launch of Bulletproof InfoTechBulletproof Networks (Jeff Anderson) and CompuConsult (Rene Sloos) joined forces on Feb 1, 2009.  Bulletproof’s focus is to bring worry-free business technology support to oil and gas companies, accounting firms and general small business throughout Southern and Central Alberta.  I am still pleasantly shocked Jeff and Rene invited me to join their team.  This is truly an honour and every morning I am totally pumped to hit the streets with these guys, we do have a great story to tell and I love telling it.  Bulletproof was awarded the Microsoft IMPACT award for Small Business Specialist of the Year and also one of three companies worldwide to be recognized on the worldwide stage at the New Orleans Microsoft Partner Conference.
  • Regaining Focus - For several years up to 2009 I tried to do everything and be everything to anyone.  Well, this year I realized this mindset was causing more harm than good.  I was doing anything extremely well.  Going into 2010 I have promised myself to slow down a lot and continue the trend I started by dumping more stuff off my plate.  I believe focus is what matters the most and when you are totally focused on your goals and what you need to do each day you are almost guaranteed to succeed.  So my goals in this area for 2010, slow down, focus and then succeed.
  • Family – Family is extremely important and something I worked hard to get back on track this past year.  It is amazing how fast my boys have grown up and what fine young gentlemen they have turned out to be.  When work interferes constantly with work or you use work as an excuse when it comes to work activities, well you have a problem.  Speaking as a workaholic, trust me on this one.
  • Friends - Reconnecting with friends this past year was another major focus area for me.  I was so blessed this past September when my old high school buddy Matt got a hold of me and I just happened to be in Toronto so it was easy for us to link up.  I also have some wonderful friends here in Calgary that I need to invest more time with.

There is so many more items that happened this past year.  Merry Christmas to you all and take care of yourself, share your gifts and help one another.
