Thanks for your comment Tony. Information Technology systems are the life line in many business. Where we focus our core services it is much more than just a PC and maybe a server. We are speaking about complex information systems which many Oil and Gas firms rely on daily to enable their business to find out how much oil they produced in a day, where to find the next batch of oil and how much money they have made. It is not simply checking email, surfing the web or even more complex than a simple Access database they input some information. There are many complexities with IT in which firms have come to rely in daily in their business and there are some who will never need the services of a consultant. Good luck with your business.

I'm an independent software developer with clients and "shrink wrap" software so I have no fundamental understanding of IT outsourcing. But from what I've been reading I simply don't get the appeal of IT outsourcing. Ok sure, specialized consultants with lots of hands on experience for a month or two in getting some new technology deployed. But how can full time staff employed by someone else working for you full time be better? I simply don't get it.
