Hello from “Sin City”

Good day from Las Vegas, Nevada.

I haven’t had the opportunity to be in Vegas for a while.  I really love coming to Vegas and enjoying the heat, however there is no heat this time around.  The temperatures last night were around zero, this is expected in Calgary in November, but in Vegas?

I managed to spend some time with my bride yesterday and continue to build our bond as a couple.  I feel I have not paid enough attention to her lately with all the business travel to Orlando and Toronto over the past little while.

Something funny happened yesterday as we went for a stroll on the strip.  We were in front of the Flamingo, one of most favourite spots on the strip.  Picture me walking around, not paying attention and then me flat on my face right in front of a whole bunch of people I didn’t even know, and who didn’t know me.  I tripped over a fire hydrant right on the sidewalk, which was in plain site but I wasn’t paying attention.

Was I embarrased?  Maybe a little but after a couple of minutes all those people who witnessed me tripping over this fire hydrant were all going about their business and the only thing left was a small scratch on my leg and a slight rip in my jeans.  You see, people saw it, some asked if I was OK and my bride and I simply laughed it off.

Sometimes we need to do the same thing when life throws a fire hydrant in our way.  Simply brush ourselves off and move on laughing!
