Firefox 3.5 is out, does this mean Internet Exploder is dead?
According to one Internet Marketing Expert, Internet Explorer has been replaced by the world’s dominant browner, Firefox.
Is this a big surprise to some of you. According to David A. West’s blog, Firefox now outranked Internet Explorer as the most used browser in the world. One alarming stat is how many people are still on Internet Explorer 6.0. What does this mean to the average Joe? Simple, the world is moving to a new web browsing platform. I have to admit I rarely use Internet Explorer, basically because there isn’t a version for my MacBook and when I am in Parallels, I only use IE to run those solutions that need .NET or ASP.

I am loyal Microsoft supporter and partner, lately I feel that I need to defend their products and services way to many times for my liking. However I am still loyal to my friends and colleagues in Mississauga and Redmond. The question I must ask is this, if Microsoft has so many hold offs still running Internet Explorer 6.0 and my guess is on Windows XP as well, how many of your clients are still on old versions of your product or old support plans and refusing to update themselves?
Who is to blame? The end clients? The Trusted Business Advisor? The IT Professional? Just wondering who leads the charge? Is it Microsoft? How about is it you with your own products and services?
The technology becomes obsolete so rapidly, you can’t sit still for very long before something passes you by. Maybe it is a web browser, new fuel injection system, new service offering from your healthcare provider and any other business. Change happens, change is good…and change will occur even if you don’t want it to.
Now I love a constant state of change, I thrive on everything being in flux. I personally can’t stand to sit aside and watch the world go by. But, that is me and you are you. I respect those who like to take it slow, don’t want to change anything or rather keep old betsy in the driveway. However, change will come and you will become old and obsolete, just like old betsy in the driveway.
I would like to share this video that I found on Youtube about change…enjoy!
