Made it home in one piece

We pulled into Calgary today just around lunch time and it was great to be back home after our 12 day tour through the prairies and the plains of North America.  I would do this again in a heartbeat next year if the opportunity presented itself.

Not only was the time spent in Harlan well worth the trip itself, seeing all my colleagues from different HTG groups added to the total value of the trip.  Thanks to my HTG friends along the way that made time to visit with my family and share stories with us.

Reflections on the past two weeks is now in order.  Wow, what a great time, even some time to plan out my future.  Something special occurred today as well, something that I have been hoping and praying for, for quite a well.  Now it is time to act on it.  More to follow in a while, need to pray on it a bit more.

Family Time was the overall best benefit for this entire trip.  My family and I spent 12 days together with hardly any technology interuptions.  Yes, I had my Blackberry and I did check in every once and a while to make sure my team had the support they needed to perform their tasks over the past two weeks.  This is also important to me, I am here to support my family and my team at IT Matters.  This is why I checked in and continued to take care of business.

It is to easy just to turn things off and forget about the stuff happening back at the office, however, entrepreneurs don’t – sorry I had a rant about a week on this topic.

Snipe Hunting was great and my kids really appreciated the time Ken Shetler invested to teach my boys how to Snipe Hunt.  Actually there is no such thing as snipes in the Midwest, however it was great to just laugh with the kids, Ken and Arlin’s family.

It was great to share time with some of my HTG3 friends.  During the past 12 days, I met up with 6 HTG3 members.  This Fellowship is very important to me, these guys and ladies are more than just colleagues, they are friends and I view them as family.  Thanks to Erik, Mike, Joddey, Brad, Pat and Arlin for taking time out of their days to make my family and I welcome.  It is very much appreciated and you guys are the best.
