Patience, even on the golf course

I am still wrestling with this whole patience thing on the golf course, I went out to Water Valley Golf and Country Club yesterday, about 40 minutes outside Calgary (http://www.watervalleygolf.ca/) it is an awesome golf course and the website is totally true, with the snow and the rain during the spring, the course is in awesome shape.  You need to get out there, the price is awesome, and the course even better.

I was out with my good buddy Steve who lives around the corner from me, his Mom who is visiting from Brantford, ON and Joe Gentile from TNS Telecom (Joe got 17 wholes in, he was late).

It took me until after the turn to get my game rolling, why is it taking me 9 holes until I am able to crunch the drives, I was driving about 250.  The workouts at Westside Rec Centre withmy personal trainer Kim must be working out.  That is a posting for another day, the investment in a personal trainer is so worth it!

It was until I really slowed down my back-swing that I started really hitting the balls, I need to go to the range and hit a bucket with a slow back-swing.  I was also hitting the ball further, I mean a Sand Wedge around 110 and still flying the green.  Need to regroup on that.

How many in our business rush through things and end up hitting a project into the woods?  Or even worse rush through a project or a sales call and can’t hit it past the ladies tee?  I am sure we do this a lot, and just like in Golf the more patient you are in the back-swing, the straighter you hit the ball, the further you hit the ball and you score much better.

Don’t wait until the 10th hole to straighten out your drives in business!
