This is another one of those critical formulas to success – showing appreciation. I attempt to do it as often as possible however, it is one of those things are often is overlooked in our busy business life and even worst our family lives. In a nutshell, people want to know that what they do matters, that they make a difference and what they do counts!
When was the last time you showed anyone that they are appreciated? In our HTG meetings we make a point of going through this during every meeting. You know something, it makes a huge difference in our meetings. People really open up and get connected when they are shown that they matter and that they do make a difference. Can you make an impact in some one’s life by showing them that what they do makes a difference?
I am the type of person that is motivated by this sort of stuff to, like most others. I actually shut down if those that I am working with do not show a sign of appreciation to me for the work that I do. You know something, most people are like me. They disengage, they go somewhere else, they will go where their efforts are appreciated. In business and in life.
Appreciation does matter, it can be as simple as a card, flowers, a pat on the back or something else.
There are three R’s when it comes to motivation – RANK, REWARDS and RECOGNITION. Are you recognizing those that matter in your life and business? Try it, you’ll like it!
