I find myself this morning sitting at the Airport in Calgary waiting to fly to Toronto and then Minneapolis, MN. I am going to spend some time with my great friend Erik and assorb as much of his wisdom that I can. I am like a sponge around him.

Is there someone in your career that you can learn from?
Erik is one of these guys in my life. He is one of most sincere and humble guys that I know. Here is a guy who is very successful, in my eyes, however, he just goes with the flow. This is a skill that I hope to learn from him this week.
Having great friends, colleague and mentors are critical pieces of your overall success. Finding the right mentor is something that all business leaders need to seriously spend sometime researching. There are some great mentors available, some at a fee and some that just do it to give back to the community. The important thing is to find the right one for you!
Look at Tiger Woods as an example. Tiger is the best golfer in my opinion to ever play the game. Tiger has a coach, mentor or advisor for everything he does. Why don’t you? Donald Trump is another great example, look at him in the boardroom of “The Apprentice“, he is always referring to his closest colleagues so that he has the right information to make an informed decision.
Who can you turn to?
This is why I started a mentoring practice for Small Business Specialists and IT Professionals. The market is in desperate need for some business savvy guys. I don’t claim to know it all, however, I do have my life experiences that I can share with others in the marketplace.
