Today is my eldest son’s confirmation in the Lutheran Church of Canada. Last evening we were treated by a special dinner at Church to celebrate the young adults that are affirming their faith today. I am very proud of my son Alex. He is truly growing up to be a very intelligent and committed young man. Alexander is my first born son, he is very special, I am so sorry about the gifts that I did not recognize earlier in his life and the important times in his life that I missed.
You see I was so driven by my own success, my own career path and my own destiny that I have failed miserably to notice the signs of the need in my sons, both of them needed their Dad and I wasn’t there for them. I have committed to myself to be a Dad to them, I know I can not delete what happened in the past, however, I can learn from my decisions to elect to move forward to improve on them.
What have you done in your life that you regret? What have you done that you wish you can delete? Are you learning from poor decisions or are you continuing to struggle with direction in your life?
My son has put his faith in God, in Jesus Christ to guide him along his life. I am so proud of him!
