Another wonderful morning in the Pacific Northwest just a little rain and none of the heavy stuff that Harry warned us about during the introductory session at SMB Nation 2007 here in Redmond, WA.
I woke up this morning like I do almost every morning at 5 AM to kick off my day, and like every morning, especially when on the road, I fire up the coffee maker before I go out for my morning walk around the area. Which I will do in about 20 minutes from now. There was no cream for my coffee this AM, now I made a decision to drink it black, it was almost going to say “I have to drink it black”, then it hit me, I don’t “have to” do anything. I chose to drink it black, I made a choice to drink my coffee black. It is Starbucks House Blend, one of my favorites.
Why would I think I had to drink it black?
Life is full of choices, however you don’t have to do anything, you chose to do everything in your life. You can chose not to get up and go to the office one morning, that is a choice that you make. Some choices serve us well and others not really as well. I have made some choices in my life that haven’t served me as well as it originally looked, then I made another choice to do something else. You see how this all works. No one holds a gun to your end and says you “HAVE TO” do anything.

What choices will you make today? Will you drink your coffee black or not to drink it because you have no cream? Good choice, because it actually tastes ok without cream.
